Mom Always Liked You Best
“We still looked identical, but we were gradually changing on the inside.” – Yu MiJi (Our Unwritten Seoul, 2025)
"Mom Always Liked You Best” delves into the intricate, complex dynamics of sisterhood, examining the roles imposed by family and society and the tensions that arise from these expectations. It explores maturity versus immaturity through the lens of emotional intelligence, lived experiences, faith, conflict resolution, and self-worth. By questioning how these factors shape personal growth and relational dynamics, the work seeks to define what it means to be an older or younger sister, uncovering the variables that influence them and familial dynamics as a whole.
